Hello, Wolf Pack Families!

At QES, we welcome opportunities to celebrate diversity. Asian Heritage Month continues across our city, with many opportunities to learn, celebrate, and connect with the rich histories and contributions of Asian communities. May is also a time to recognize Canadian Jewish Heritage Month and Polish Heritage Month. We also wish each of our Wolfpack families a safe and enjoyable May long weekend, ahead.

This time of our school year is about supporting one another so that we enter June, collectively, ready to finish strong. Proactive communication with homeroom teachers remains incredibly valued as any questions or ideas arise. Thank you, as well, to our School Council, Parent Society, and the many parent volunteers who ensure our QES Memory Book tradition continues each year. Orders can be placed through School Council until June 22 for families who are interested.

Volunteers Needed

We are in need of volunteers to support our PATs at QES. We are currently looking for volunteers who DO NOT have a student in grade 6, and who have current police clearance with the office. Volunteers will act as chaperones to support student breaks as required by Alberta Education. Please remember, your child will be in grade 6 one day too and will require support from parents from another grade. It takes a village!

Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Thank you!

Save the Date | Volunteer Appreciation Tea

Our Wolfpack team will be hosting a Volunteer Appreciation Tea on Friday, May 29 at 11:00 AM.

Further details will be announced soon.  Stay tuned!  All volunteers from 2025-26 will be invited by classroom teachers, individually in the days, ahead.

Upcoming | Full School Portrait

Each school-year an outdoor portrait is taken of the full school.  We are planning to take this portrait photo at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, Monday, June 8.

Afternoon kindergarten students are invited to ‘drop-in’ to take the photo alongside a parent/guardian or with a childcare caregiver.  Any student dropping-in for the photo will leave the school grounds after the photo is taken to return at 12:29 PM for afternoon classes.

Please bring any questions, etc. To your child(ren)’s teacher.

Reminder | Label those Layers

We are so appreciative when students arrive to school with layers, prepared for indoor/outdoor learning within everchanging weather conditions.

Yet again, our lost-and-found is overflowing.  Each day, our staff do check new lost-and-found items for labels.  Students are invited to check our lost-and-found for any lost items.  Stay tuned for more plans to get items displayed prior to items being donated at the end of this season.

Moving? | Notifying our School for 2026-27 Planning

A reminder to families: If you are aware that your child will be moving to a new school for the upcoming school year, please inform the school office by e-mailing our school’s general inbox at your earliest convenience. This information helps us with planning and staffing.
