Hello, Wolf Pack Families!

It’s Support Staff Appreciation Week, with Administrative Professionals Appreciation Day, today.  We take any and every opportunity to celebrate the incredible members of our Wolfpack staff team, and deeply appreciate the thoughtful care and hard work of each of our support staff members!  We are deeply grateful for each of you!

With today being Earth Day (or Mother Earth Day through United Nations’ observances), we take a moment to celebrate many ways our Wolfpack students are learning about the world around us… and to be thoughtful, curious, and caring stewards of our shared world.  I know many classes and grade-teams are participating in some cherished Earth Day traditions for today within and beyond our classrooms.

Save the Date | Volunteer Appreciation Tea

Our Wolfpack team will be hosting a Volunteer Appreciation Tea on Friday, May 29.  The time of this event has not yet been determined by our organizing committee and will be announced soon.

All volunteers from 2025-26 will be invited by classroom teachers, individually in the days, ahead.

Gratitude | School Council & Parent Society

Enormous thanks for last night’s School Council and Parent Society’s discussions.  Each converation and idea is incredibly valued.  The generosity of our Parent Society is incredibly invaluable.  Together, these groups coordinate efforts with staff to make our school ‘sing’!

Thank you to Ms. Pfob, Ms. Gould, and Ms O’Dell for representing our Grade 4 learners and providing a student Land Acknowledgement.

It’s hard to believe that our next conversations on May 26 will be our last of 2025-26, with our Grade 3 team leading off the evening at 6:30 PM.

Reminder (due: Thursday, April 23) | Homeroom Placement for 2026-27

At Queen Elizabeth School, students are placed into homerooms using a thoughtful and collaborative process.

Placements are based on several factors, including:

  • Class size, ensuring a similar number of students in each homeroom within a grade level.
  • Balanced classroom composition, developed by educator professionals through careful consideration of many factors, including:
    • the learning needs of individual students, and
    • social-emotional considerations, such as how students learn and work together.

Our teaching and administrative teams work diligently and collaboratively to create an organizational structure that ensures:

  • students are grouped purposefully by educator professionals, and
  • balanced homeroom classrooms, where:
    • students are not streamed into ability-based groups, and
    • each homeroom sections provide equitable and parallel learning experiences

If you have relevant information about your child(ren)’s learning needs that may specifically relate to 2026-27 homeroom placement, please:

  • e-mail Travis Robertson (Principal) at tjrobertson@cbe.ab.ca :
    • Please use the same e-mail address you have registered with My CBE / PowerSchool.
    • You may choose to cc your child(ren)’s current homeroom teacher(s).
    • Please use the subject line: inform | 2026-27 homeroom placement

Please ensure we are contacted, via e-mail, by 4:00 PM on Thursday, April 23, 2026.

Please note that we are not able to accept/accommodate requests for specific teachers nor for placement with specific peers or friends

Moving? | Notifying our School for 2026-27 Planning

A reminder to families: If you are aware that your child will be moving to a new school for the upcoming school year, please inform the school office by e-mailing our school’s general inbox at your earliest convenience. This information helps us with planning and staffing.
