Hello, Wolf Pack Families!

It's National Indigenous History Month, Filipino Heritage Month and Italian Heritage Month. It is also Pride Month, an opportunity to affirm the importance of ensuring 2SLGBTQ+ students and staff have learning and work environments that are welcoming, caring, respectful and safe.

On May 29, we began a Miisamssootaa (Long Rains, Blackfoot) moon, which feels especially fitting for our early June circumstances. For traditional Métis activities, this same moon is marked as Pininawawe Pesim (Egg-Laying Moon). Here in June, we are at the final capstone of our 2025-26 school year with both: an exciting month to look forward to, and an amazing school year to celebrate and to be proud of!

Notification | Report Cards available Thurs., June 25

Families can view, download or print online report cards for kindergarten to Grade 12 students June 25 – July 31, 2026 through MyCBE. Within MyCBE, families can also view student information, comments from your child's teacher, assignments and grades, and attendance information.

Please note: After July 31, 2026, report cards will no longer be available to access in MyCBE.

Reminder | Grade 6 Provincial Achievement Tests (PAT’s)

Following Grade 6’s earlier Part A English Language Arts and Literature (ELA&L) writing exam last week, the following assessments remain:

Thurs., June 4 – English Language Arts and Literature 6 Part B
Fri., June 12 – Science 6
Mon., June 15 – Math 6 Part A
Thur., June 18 – Math 6 Part B

You may note that Social Studies is not listed above. This is because 2025-26 was the first year of a new curriculum for Grade 6, meaning no Social Studies PAT will be held in this school year.

Reminder | Keeping Toys & Personal Items at Home

Students should not bring personal items such as small figurines/toys, stuffed toys, trading cards etc. that are not directly related to their schoolwork. In addition to being a possible distraction and/or hazard, the security of these items cannot be guaranteed. Please be aware that the school will take no responsibility for items’ safekeeping. If students choose to bring games and toys to school and there are problems with their use (trading, disagreements, interfering with classroom learning), then the item will be confiscated and parents will be contacted. Thank you, in advance, for your support in this regard.

Upcoming | Full School Portrait

Each school-year an outdoor portrait is taken of the full school. We are planning to take this portrait photo at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, Monday, June 8.

Afternoon kindergarten students are invited to ‘drop-in’ to take the photo alongside a parent/guardian or with a childcare caregiver. Any student dropping-in for the photo will leave the school grounds after the photo is taken to return at 12:29 PM for afternoon classes.

Please bring any questions, etc. To your child(ren)’s teacher.

QES Full School Portrait Order

Gratitude | Volunteer Tea & previous School Council Meeting

Enormous thanks to our QES volunteers who were able to join us last week for our annual Volunteer Tea. Thank you, too, to our staff committee who organizes this event, making it happen. We are also appreciative of our student helpers and performers, including our School Choir.

Thank you to our Grade 3 students and staff for representing us with a classroom update at our most recent School Council event with a thoughtful and meaningful student narrated video.
