Hello, Wolf Pack Families!
As February takes shape, I am reminded that our strong sense of school community doesn’t happen by accident. Like gratitude, kindness is a practice. The month ahead—and the months beyond—offer many opportunities for reflection and connection as we work together to ensure a welcoming, caring, safe, and respectful school culture is lived out each and every day.
I continue to be inspired by our collective efforts to ensure every student feels safe, seen, and supported. Whether in February or any month of the school year, we know that small gestures of kindness and respect can ripple in profound ways. Thank you for your continued partnership as we nurture a caring and inclusive environment where all students can learn and thrive.

Optional | Valentine’s Day Kind Note Exchange
Most classrooms will offer an optional opportunity to exchange Valentine’s notes near dismissal on Wednesday, February 11, ahead of Valentine’s Day over the weekend.
Participating classes will share a roster of first names either through Google Classroom or during daily agenda time so notes can be prepared at home in advance.
If students and families choose to participate, teachers ask that:
- A note be provided for every student in the class, rather than selecting only a few classmates
- No food items or edible treats be brought for the exchange
Upcoming | Pink Shirt Day
On Wednesday, February 25, students and staff are invited to wear pink in recognition of Pink Shirt Day.
In 2007, in response to a new Grade 9 student being bullied for wearing a pink shirt, two Nova Scotia high school students took a stand against bullying by distributing pink shirts. This act of kindness has grown into a symbol against bullying in schools across Canada and around the world.
Promoting inclusion is something that happens in our schools every day. Families are encouraged to explore the following resources:
- Learn more about how the CBE works to create safe and caring school environments
- Learn more about Bullying Prevention – Actions We Can Take from the Government of Alberta, including downloadable resources to support bullying prevention

A reminder to families: If you are aware that your child will be moving to a new school for the upcoming school year, please inform the school office by emailing our school’s general inbox at your earliest convenience. This information helps us with planning and staffing.
