Hello, Wolf Pack Families!
February is finishing strong! It's a sea of pink today at QES, with many classes participating in meaningful discussions and activities relating to welcoming, caring, safe, and respectful learning environments and collective efforts to stop bullying. Students and classes are also collaborating with School Council this week as part of an annual Art Card fundraiser. Stay tuned for more details on this collective effort!
As students have no school on Friday, February 27, staff look forward to professional learning and planning relating to well-being, literacy, and mathematics development. I would be remiss not to thank teaching staff for all of their careful and thoughtful work with report cards, which went live yesterday. From there, we look forward to all the adventures March (and our not-so-distant springtime) will bring!

Notify | Virtual Report Cards
Report cards became available virtually yesterday morning through MyCBE (PowerSchool). Our teachers have worked very hard to communicate meaningful information about your child's learning. Across the CBE, families will have a 30-day window to access report cards online. If you would like to keep a copy, please ensure you print and/or save it within that time frame.
Below is an important reference guide from the CBE explaining the report card indicators:
For technical support on accessing virtual report cards, support is available at:
If you have any questions about your child's report card, please contact your child's teacher(s) directly — they are best positioned to help.
Reminder | Attendance
A quick reminder about how attendance is recorded:
- Monday–Thursday count as two attendance periods: morning and afternoon.
- Friday counts as one attendance period.
When you see higher numbers for absences or lates, this could be why — there are 180 school days, but attendance is taken twice per day on Monday–Thursday.
Student-Led Conferences will take place on March 19–20, 2026, and we look forward to welcoming all families to see your child's growth and learning firsthand.
Reminder | Grade 4, 7 & 10 – Alberta Assurance Survey
Students are being given time to complete the provincially mandated Alberta Assurance Survey. This annual survey gathers important feedback about students' and parents' school experiences and supports continuous improvement in education.
Survey topics include:
- Creating welcoming, caring, respectful, and safe learning environments
- Student learning engagement
- Parental involvement in children's education
Parents and guardians of Grade 4 students should have received an email from School Improvement containing a survey link, a unique Random-Access Code, and detailed instructions. We encourage all eligible parents and guardians to participate and share their feedback.
Save the Date | QES Spring Music Concert 2026
We are excited to share that the QES Spring Music Concert 2026 will take place on Thursday, March 12.
Performance Schedule:
- Show 1: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Show 2: 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
To help manage seating capacity, families will be assigned a specific performance time based on their child's class:
- Families of students in Ms. Coutts', Ms. Kerr's, Ms. Chapdelaine's, and Ms. Sushko's classes are invited to attend the morning concert (11:00 AM – 12:00 PM).
- Families of students in Ms. Babuik's, Ms. Greenfield's, Ms. Mansell's, and Mr. Wensley's classes are invited to attend the afternoon concert (2:00 PM – 3:00 PM).
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all families. We look forward to welcoming you to celebrate our students' learning and musical growth.
