Hello, Wolf Pack Families!

As we make our way further into January, we can’t help but notice the brighter, sunnier mornings starting off our school days. Students have watched our gym be transformed by Ms. Little into a full gymnastics space, complete with the Canadian Climber. Today also marks our first official choir practice for those interested in joining our school choir. A big thank you to Ms. Chan for her hard work in ensuring this valued annual tradition continues for our students.

On behalf of our Wolf Pack learners, we extend our continued gratitude to our School Council and Parent Society teams. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend last night’s meeting. We look forward to our next meeting on Tuesday, March 10, where we will have an opportunity to take a closer look at our school’s School Development Plan and will hear a classroom update from our Grade 5 team.

Sincerely,

Travis Robertson
Principal, Queen Elizabeth School (K-6)

Now Available! | 2026–27 Instructional Calendar

The 2026–27 Instructional Calendar has now been finalized and posted. The first day of school for students will be Monday, August 31, 2026.

Instructional calendars are developed in accordance with current legislation, provincial examination requirements, and feedback from stakeholders. Each calendar includes a minimum of 181 instructional days, as well as 10 system-wide days allocated for parent-teacher conferences, professional learning, and school-based organizational planning.

Update | Provincial Assessments – Grades K–3

As in previous years, the provincial government has mandated standardized assessments for students in Kindergarten through Grade 3. This week until February 6, students in Grades 1–3 will complete the second of three assessments, while Kindergarten students will participate in this standardized assessment process for the first time.

These assessments provide valuable information related to foundational literacy and numeracy skills. At the school level, the results help teachers better understand each student’s learning needs and plan appropriate next steps. For additional details, families are encouraged to review the CBE parent information sheet

Save the Date | Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences

Our next round of Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences will take place on:

  • Thursday, March 19 | 4:30 – 7:30 PM
  • Friday, March 20 | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

These will be student-led conferences, with multiple families signing up within half-hour intervals. This format allows students to showcase their learning achievements within the classroom, with support from their teachers.

If you have questions, please contact your child(ren)’s teacher.
